About Us

As a daughter of Salvadoran immigrants, I always grew up feeling the lack of representation of my culture in my community. When I would tell people I was from El Salvador either they didn't know where it was, or they had many negative comments to say about it. 

Growing up, I didn't feel very connected to my roots. It wasn't until I was in my late 20's that I began visiting the country. The first time I went, I bought a pair of handmade earrings and a handmade purse to carry a piece of El Salvador with me. When people began to ask where I had purchased these items I realized that this was an opportunity to support artisans in El Salvador, bring awareness to the stunning handmade goods and to connect other first-gen Salvadoran Americans ot their roots.

Salutierra was born in 2023 with the mission of sharing my culture with my community. We are preserving ancestral art through handmade goods. A luxury brand that remembers its roots. 

Salutierra is a love letter to my country, my cultura, mi comunidad, my ancestors, and to my younger self.
