Los Pericos Pasan ("The Parakeets Pass By") is inspired by Alfredo Espino's poem from Pájaros de Leyenda, part of his collection Jícaras Tristes — a tribute to flocks of green parakeets crossing the afternoon sky like a joyful, drifting cloud of wings. Wilber Salguero mirrors that image here, with parakeets in flight framing a volcano, a quiet pueblo home, and a lone perched perico below, surrounded by native blooms and foliage.
